1. Leave the sink dry at night
Cockroaches drink from a wet sink, a dripping tap, and the cloth left in a puddle. Wipe the slab, wring the cloth, and fix the drip. This one change starves a kitchen infestation faster than another round of spray on the tiles.
2. Put snacks in jars
Ants and cockroaches do not open a good jar. Packets of cereal, pet food, and the bin without a lid are an invitation. Store pet food off the floor.
3. Fit a door sweep and intact mesh
A pencil-wide gap under the main door is enough for a mouse. Torn mesh is enough for mosquitoes. These are hardware jobs, and they outlast any treatment.
4. Empty balcony water
Plant saucers, a bucket, a blocked AC drain tray, and a neighbour's cooler breed mosquitoes within a few days of rain. Empty what is yours every couple of days in the wet season.
5. Stop storing cardboard on the floor
Cartons behind the fridge and under the bed stay damp and dark. Cockroaches lay eggs there, and rodents shred them for nests. Break boxes down and keep storage off the slab.
If you already see droppings, mud tubes, or bed bug spots, habits alone will not finish the job. Book an inspection and keep these five in place afterwards so the visit lasts.
